Billy Madison is one of my favorite movies. Sure it juvenile humor, but it is a heartwarming story of one man’s journey to educate himself in order to save the name of his family.

Ok maybe not that honorable, but funny nonetheless.

Turns out it is really happening as a 70yr old man has re-enrolled in first grade.

Yay for him, I hope it all works out but remember O’doyle Rules!

Heath Ledger was found dead in his NYC Apartment this morning.

Cause of death is still unknown. He leaves behind one child and The 28-year-old actor has a two year old daughter with former fiance Michelle Williams. He plays The Joker in the upcoming Batman film, “The Dark Knight.”

He was in one of my favorite teen movie, “10 Things I Hate About You”. This is truly disturbing.

I saw Transformers Monday. I wouldn’t say it was the greatest movie of all time, but I would say it was great.

I understand why it gets some bad reviews, it is the same reason bands like Daughtry never get good cd reviews.

People can’t simplify their lives. They can’t accept entertainment value over complex content value. If a movies plot is simple or a band doesn’t explore the underused aisle of their local music store, then they must not be good.

What follows is my quasi review of transformers, read on and be mystified.

My review consists of quotes and my rebuttals from other reviews of Transformers:
Transformers does have its faults. During the robot fights it was nearly impossible to track who was fighting who. - I agree with this statement, it was a tad confusing, but the same can be said Jet Li’s final fight in “The One”. Not sure how that relates but its fun to namedrop other movies.

Flat, loud, flashy spectacle that’s been fine-tuned and sanded down to appeal to the widest global audience possible. All in all, pretty generic. - I am guessing this reviewer has watched “Transmorphers”, the other transforming robot movie thereby making this one generic.

“In this film’s reality, the nation’s top scientist looks like a stripper” - I suppose telling this reviewer that she wasn’t the top scientist, she was part of group of college students with computer knowledge who was brought in to help stop a hacker. Oh and she was fully clothed the whole time.

You don’t put comedy in a movie like that - I agree that the jokes during the fights didn’t make sense, but if you got Shia Lebeouf, you’ve got to have jokes :)

#7 No Orson Welles
#8 Bumblebee is now a Camaro
#10 Micheal Bay
#11 No Megatron transforming into a giant cannon

#7 He’s dead, #8 Volkswagen Beetle’s not so loved anymore, #10 you should know what to expect, #11 Why would he, he was a pistol sized gun in the original. I liked the fact they made him his own man.

Despite what the famous tag line says, there’s not much below the surface in director Michael Bay’s live-action adaptation of “Transformers.” - That could be because the tagline was created for the toys. Who expected an awesome plot in a movie where transforming robots fight?

This is the main issue I have with reviews. I did not go into this movie hoping for a lot of thinking, I went in hoping for a film I could stare at. A film that would take what I loved as a kid and have it grow up a little. I wasn’t looking for next years Sundance winner; I was looking for an escape from reality back to when time was simpler.

I think anyone who goes in with that attitude will not be disappointed.

Footnote: Still being a kid at heart also helps greatly in keeping entertainment to have simple value instead of looking for the next big thing.
