Walker on Sunshine

At the end of the day, LIFE is still GOOD…

Flushed….

Ryan, Rick and I went down to Docks to play some games at lunch. For a girlie I didn’t do too bad…sure I lost three of the four basketball games, but I smoked them in one….(of course, Ryan lost his ball and had to chase it), and I came in 2nd in the racing game….Rick wouldn’t even TRY to beat me at Dance Dance Revolution….I made it three rounds before I lost at Pac-Man…..not too shabby…

If your in Fayetteville, check Docks out - its alot of fun, especially for adults who want to act like children. :) Of course, I also have to plug Fun Fun Fun, because they were the original in Fayetteville arcade entertainment, AND my son is on one of the pages along with my sister Ari and brothers Caleb and Sam. Of course, ARC Design created both websites.

American Idol Gives Back is on tonight. I just heard that Obama, Clinton and McCain are going to be on the program as well. Sunday I will have my first experience with the Obama campaign, as I will be answering the Cumberland County office phones for a few hours that evening. I am really excited to actually be doing more than just talking about what a great leader he is to my friends and family.

Wooooowwwwww…..

I really thought I would be better at writing a blog. I will try to improve on my blog performance, because honestly, there is just too much going on in this crazy head of mine not too.

I just did a small update on the ARC Design website, and it got me thinking about all the great work we do here at ARC. Sure, we like to talk about the Duplin County Tourism site because of how neat it was to create, and the Fort Bragg MWR site because of how BIG it was. (Though I can’t take credit, that was right before my time.) But we have put together some websites here lately that I am just so proud of! Like First Response and GangfreeNC…..

A couple of them even have my picture in it because I got to accompany our AMAZING Photographer, Daniel Heble (I am a little biased, he is one of my baby brothers). So if you visit Ferncreek General Surgery, you will notice me getting my blood pressure checked. That should make anyone who knows me well laugh, since I am terrified of getting my blood pressure checked. Hey, little fact for you - if you want to make sure you have a good blood pressure reading, don’t stress over it. That one’s free, you have to pay for any other medical advice.

Anyway, I have to say that after five months, I still love my job. Sentimental yes, but it still amazes me that 15 years ago Connie Jean Howard was a high school journalist who just wanted to write for a living, and now Connie Howard Walker is living that dream. It’s a good life.

(Oh no, Rick is coming…back to work…)

WOW!

My first ARC Design blog.

It is hard to believe I have been at ARC Design for a month already. It has been one crazy month. But awesome at the same time.

The adjustments at home that were expected have been smooth for the most part. My husband Jeff had to get used to getting home before me in the afternoon, but the kids have taken it really well. That makes me happy and sad. :)

I am thrilled to finally be able to do what I love to do (write!) and to get to work with great people.

Now when I say great, I am not exaggerating. It amazes me how a company that does such amazing work (check out the Fort Bragg MWR Website for an example), is so laid back and friendly. Everyone has made me feel like I am part of the family.

In the past month, three weeks really if you count the week we were in Chicago for Thanksgiving, I have written proposals, video scripts, press releases, and content for websites. I have learned SO much about new programs, like ARCestate and the Newsletter tool.

What I have believed for the past year has shown itself to be true, ARC Design is the best graphic design company in Fayetteville, NC!
